Teen Volunteers

Help us and help you!

The Oak Creek Public Library relies on a strong team of volunteers to ensure that the library runs smoothly. Teens play a very important role in volunteering. The Oak Creek Public Library offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for teens in 7th-12th grade. Opportunities range from one-time special events to regular shifts, especially during the summer months.

Volunteers under 18 years of age MUST fill out the application below and have a parent or legal guardian complete the consent form found at the bottom of this page. If you are over the age of 18, and no longer in high school, please consider becoming a member of the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library.

We do not currently offer volunteer opportunities to individuals seeking court-ordered community service.

Step 1: Teen Volunteer Application*

Before filling out the Teen Volunteer Application, please read over the Volunteer Policy*. Then, fill out the application.

Step 2: Teen Volunteer Orientation

After you submit the teen volunteer application, you are welcome to register for one of the Teen Volunteer Orientations which will be offered on Saturday, May 20th, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. or Tuesday, June 13th, 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Registration begins on Monday, May 8th. Orientation is required for new volunteers and encouraged for returning volunteers. Register on our events calendar.

Step 3: Teen Volunteer Handbook and Consent Forms

You and your parent/guardian must sign the Teen Volunteer Handbook and Consent Forms (if you are under the age of 18) and return them to the Oak Creek Public Library before signing up for shifts. Feel free to read the handbook, sign the consent forms, and turn them in at the Teen Volunteer Orientation. Forms will also be available at the orientation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our volunteer coordinator at [email protected].
